public service anouncement

If you get an IM from a coworker that you rarely - if ever - IM with and the content says something like this "WOW! Is this really you?" followed by a geocities link

DO!NOT!CLICK!ON!THAT!LINK!

And when I say Trust Me On This - I mean TRUST ME ON THIS DAMMIT!

I have been infected. First time ever...

on a MUCHO GRANDE scale with the msn.com variety of the Vundo Trojan thingamagig.

McAfee cannot fix it - not the last time I talked to my internal IT helpdesk anyway.

I love you all - but I do not want to talk about it.

I wondered what had happened to you, and glad to see you back. Good luck with killing your virus. I have to laugh every time I see one called Trojan, can't help but think of those other "things"...

Come back soon!

Too late for me. I did it too. I rolled my system back and regained some of the features I lost, BUT, I cannot install anything - even from a Disk, it fried my registry keys, and removed clipart from all of my Microsoft Office products including Publisher which is my lifes blood. The pisser of it all is that because the registry keys are sk-a-r-ude I cant reinstall. The biggest pisser... Norton 360 is fried. I hear that the worm/virus/MF'ing dang blasted thing eats its way into Norton. I have tried to uninstall, remove from services, and stop processes, but my laptop pretends Norton isnt there any more until I try to download new virus software at minimum to do a scan, it tells me there is another virus scan running.

I am ready to pitch this thing out the window.

Sorry... it felt good to get that off my chest.
