party at my house

the kids went back to school today.

even smith is in a half day preschool program for 3 year olds! (Praise God for that grant money!)

i didn't cry (till i picked up my son and i could see how terribly glad he was to see me).

savvy didn't even give me a hug or a kiss.

DO WHAT?!

And Sam got up in a good mood - ready to get dressed and without fighting.

my kids have been replaced by stepford children...
I'm really going to miss them...

They all are beautiful. Do you ever look at them and think that they are so cute you could just squeeze them until they squeal? What are you going to do while the kids are at school?

Happy New Year!!! That being said, I always count my year starting in September, back to school. Having taught Pre-K for 20 years must have something to do with it! When I see that very first Back-to-school commercial on T.V. I knew my summer as a teacher was O-V-E-R!But now, my school year as a stay at home mom was about to begin!

Your kids look great and very happy, you've done a great job. I love the "Stepford children" and the pink S lunchbox. Now I know what that S stands for!

Sometimes it's the parents that have the tears on the first day, more so than the children.
I still teared up today walking my 6th grader in, then again at dinner tonight hearing about all the drama that goes on during recess breaks....Heroman had more tears than I did.
Then again I still tear up thinking about my son going into his second year of University, and how he doesn't need me to listen to his drama....
Happy New School year to you, soak it up and enjoy every second of it; every lunch you pack, note you sign, every load of dirty laundry with snails and sand in the pockets...you get the point.
You are one lucky mom.
