yeah, I know

i am behind.
cut me some slack, will ya?

had work training class in Dallas Monday through Wednesday.
Dr appointment and the work-load-catch-up game yesterday.
And today went to Sam's school with pizza and cupcakes for lunch to celebrate her ninth birthday with her classmates. (not a word...)

grocery and birthday shopping last night (I missed the season premiere of LOST.)

so in other words, I am chasing my tail trying to keep up.
The weekend doesn't hold much promise to that end.
Tomorrow to Medieval Times with 5 school girls to have dinner.

Superbowl Sunday. (sigh)
if anyone has any really good excuses so that I can send the hubby and kids to the in-laws and stay at home alone and watch pride and prejudice instead - well, i'd be most grateful...

other than that, I'm fine. really.
how 'bout you?

Sounds like a whirlwind. Can you beg off on Sunday by just saying you need a break? Some "alone" time?

Yeah. Wouldn't have worked for me either....

hang in there, sistah.

Are the in-laws up for it? Are they close by? Call ahead and compare notes, what's on the menu.

If it's a go on their side then hide all the snacks, all the football watching munching treats, sodas, beer, juice, all gone. Then announce that there's nothing to eat at home, BUT at GRAMMA'S HOUSE she's making (fill in the blank.......) specally for the Super Bowl game and wouldn't it be fun and yuuuuumy to go there to watch the game instead???? (You have to jump up and down and fling your arms up in the touchdown pose to really make this work.)

Then before they can answer say, "GREAT, I'll go grab dad's keys for him, you guys go get in the car! Read Set Hike!!"

Have their jackets at the door, or in his car ahead of time. Pat him on the back as you gently guide him towards the door, and tell him to have fun and you'll see him when the games over. You've got "womanly" things to do around the house.

Pat him on the butt as he goes out the door like all football players do as you say "Bye honey" close the door quickly behind him before he knows what just happened.

I hope it works for you.

It sounds like Wien's done this before...

I say you let the hubby and kids stay home and you can hop a flight to Virginia. We can watch Price and Prejudice either before or after the game, but we MUST watch the game because I'm a die-hard Giants fan.

Here's to successfully chasing your tail. As I've had no success in this area, I have no other words of advice.

Nah, I've never had to do that before, just day dreaming for t_cole. My ex was never home for superbowl, he did the buddy thing, no wives allowed game. It also meant that he usually missed his daughter's birthday, but what did that matter?
I made the Superbowl fun for my sun with mini weenies in bbq sauce and all the other fun, messy bowl treats. One year made him a big cheese hat to wear as he cheered on his (still) favorite team.
I'm into the game too, and am looking forward to tomorrow!

I watched Pride and Prejudice, but I would have traded it in a heartbeat for your tickets to Medieval times (I love eating chicken with my fingers and cheering for people who fight on horseback.)

Same story here. I thought things were going to slow down after Christmas but I am finding that they have only gotten worse. I swear some days I don't know if I am coming or going.

I'm fine, thank you for asking. I let the world drive me nuts but other than that I'm fine. LOL

Gone With The Wind, yeah, great movie, daughter named after it.

Cole? Is your last name Cole? I went by Cole for years when I was a kid, my Grandmother was married to a Cole and I lived with them.

Until he died in a logging accident.

Have a crazy day, I do. :-)

I LOVE Pride and Predjudice. I'm assuming you're referring to the mini-series with Colin Firth. Ay carumba! And you missed Lst? Girl, you need to invest in DVR. It changed my life, it can change yours too. Good luck with getting caught up...

You can watch Lost at ABC.com and there aren't any commercials. I missed it too.
